Farmers want to rebuild the U.S. cattle herd, to supply the beef consumers crave and provide opportunities for future generations of farmers.

Flooding the U.S. market with foreign beef won’t help that happen.

🚜🌱 Local ISU Extension and Outreach - Hancock County, Iowa Clover Kids recently explored the many careers in agriculture during a Farm Careers Tour! From gardening with Jeff Short, to learning about crop production on Brent Renner’s farm, to discovering cattle care with Stan Greiman, youth got a firsthand look at the people and processes that help provide our food, fiber, and fuel. 👏🐄🌽

Local Clover Kids members had the opportunity to explore the many careers and opportunities available in agriculture during a recent Farm Careers Tour.

Central Iowa farmers have the opportunity to participate in free nitrogen soil sampling, which can reduce input costs and improve water quality. This fall, we are once again opening up that opportunity.

Farmers in Audubon, Benton, Black Hawk, Boone, Buena Vista, Calhoun, Carroll, Clay, Dallas, Dickinson, Emmet, Greene, Grundy, Guthrie, Hamilton, Hancock, Humboldt, Kossuth, Palo Alto, Pocahontas, Polk, Sac, Tama, Webster, Winnebago, and Wright can now access free fall soil sampling through INREC’s Nitrogen Soil Sampling Program.

Participation in this program will get you:
• Field-specific nitrogen data
• Confidence heading into 2027 planning
