Mark your calendars and catch an impressive lunar eclipse this Thursday night, August 27 into early Friday, August 28.

The eclipse is expected to start at 10:33 pm on Thursday and will reach its maximum peak at 12:13 am on Friday.

At the height of the eclipse, more than 96% of the Moon will be covered by Earth's dark shadow, leaving only a thin portion of the lunar surface brightly illuminated.
