Lyback's Ice Fishing:
The better bite seems to be in the shallow water in the late afternoon, overnight and early morning hours for keeper Walleye. 12-16 feet seemed the best. many anglers were looking down the holes and cameras during daylight hours and seeing them, but they were difficult to get to bite most of the time. Fishermen going deep were also had good action but most Walleye seemed to be smalls.

Starting tomorrow we will be allowing traffic over the ramps on the pressure ridge on both roads. We will be checking the ramps before daylight and the wheelhouses out there that want to go deeper can call the office in the morning for the green light. With the weather staying on the cool side the ice should stay relativity stable late Sunday thru Monday when it warms up. By that time most will be off the lake from out there.

Looking forward to a good weekend with a full house. Only openings left is a few basic 4-6 hole houses. Call to book one if interested!

Agate Bay Resort
WARM WEATHER HELPS FISHING
The recent warmer weather has really helped the fishing. We moved most of our rental houses deeper and the catch of walleyes and nice perch has improved a lot.
Most of our houses are out on the mud in 26-32’. We have seen some bigger walleyes which were not biting as well during the very cold weather.
We have some rentals available for this weekend and I think they should do well. Please call us at 320-684-2233 for more info or to reserve one.

Beachside Resort
We had a nice week of weather up here this week, and other than some strong winds Friday, this weekend looks great! We have had multiple reports of good fishing since this past weekend, and we expect that to remain the same. Our roads still have no major cracks and we have no bridges. Getting around is still very easy. Auger extensions are recommemded.
THE BITE:
We have a TON of mud coming off of gravel that has been doing great for Perch and Tulibee fishing. Tons of active smaller walleye and some bigger ones out deep. Most of the larger walleye have been caught at night or early morning in shallower water (12'-16'). A plain hook setline with shiner or sucker have been best. The best Pike bite has been in 6'-8' FOW on w**d lines. Northland Quickstrike Rigs have been best, and we have a nice variety in baitshop.
BAIT:
We have shiners, rainbows, fats, larvae and waxies. We will be getting in some suckers tomorrow!
FISHING CONTEST:
We will be having our weekend fishing contest this weekend which is FREE with the purchase of a road pass. You will have a chance to win an Eskimo E40, Engel Bait Cooler, Annual Ice road pass, Eskimo Quickfish shelter, Giftcards from Muggs of Mille Lacs or Tulibee Tavern and more!

Brandt's Ice Fishing:
This weekend looks beautiful for fishing!A little windy today, but it does look like it is going to lighten up a bit tonight into tomorrow.
Travel on the lake is pretty easy going if you would like to go chase the perch around. There are some snow drifts to bank your house. People are catching a lot of small walleyes and a few keepers, just have to w**d through them using bigger baits. The jumbo perch are caught out on the mud or just deeper gravel.
We are seeing around 24+ inches of ice on our roads, we just ask to keep it slow to preserve our roads a long as possible. Good luck and we look forward to seeing everyone.
* Rentals - Give our office a call at 320-532-3674

The Mille Lacs Angler
We have roads going out to the gravel! Please note there is a bridge placed over the pressure ridge by Hennepin Island that you’ll need to cross to get out there.
Walleye: Biting on set lines, primarily with shiners and sucker minnows on pink, red, or white hooks. Jigging has also been successful using fatheads on Forage Minnows and spoons—red and white variations are performing best.
Perch: Look to deeper water (25+ feet) for the keepers. We're seeing success jigging with wax worms on small spoons or jigs, while some nice perch are being pulled in on set lines with small fatheads and crappie minnows.
Northern Pike: Being caught in the bay along the breaks using sucker minnows on set lines.
If you have any questions, give us a call at 320-674-0482.
Our office opens daily at 6:00 a.m. and we can point you in the right direction. Stop right next door at Johnsons Portside for fuel, bait, and snacks on your way out!

Lybacks Ice Fishing:
Been busy getting regular customers on the ice the last couple of days, and have a couple more ahead. Rentals are busy and getting close to full over the weekend, so if you want to book a house for the weekend, now’s the time.

The bite has been off and on with the weather changes we’ve been through the last few days—a lot of under-the-slot Walleye, with a keeper here and there. The best bite has been late afternoon and overnight. Northern Pike have been C/R on top of the shallower reefs. The biggest Walleye have been caught in 12-16 feet of water, at night, near shallow reefs. That is where most of the smaller Perch are hanging out during daylight hours.

The ice depth ranges from 15-17″ with most around 16″. We are only letting 1/2 and single-axle wheelhouses out, as we are pulling houses daily, and I do not want more heavy traffic on the roads than that. The average 1/2-ton truck and single-axle house together weigh between 10,000 and 11,000 lbs. That’s enough for the ice we have at this time. Until after the weekend, all traffic will remain inside the pressure ridge. After it heals some more with this cold, we will get across.

Agate Bay Resort:
After a rocky start today, we had a good day. The crack in front opened up again. We spent a little of time plowing snow off of it and the surrounding area to reduce weight on the crack.
We put out two bridges over the crack, one wooden one to the right and a metal one to the left. We want everyone to use the metal one to the left and save the wooden one for pulling houses out. The metal one is wide enough to pull wheel houses over. GO SLOW!!
We got all of our rental houses out and set several up for rental so we have houses to rent for this weekend.
We will begin pulling private houses out at 8:00 am tomorrow. Come up and get on the pull list and we will pull you when your name comes up. Wheel houses with season packages can also pull out tomorrow. Weight limit- 3/4 ton gas with single or double axle house!
We save the first day for our private season customers so we will not be allowing any daily or weekend passes on Thursday. We will be open for those starting Friday!!
The fishing has been pretty good, both for perch and walleye. There are a lot of small walleyes( the future), but we are seeing surprising numbers of slot fish. One customer got his biggest walleye ever, a 29” one last weekend.
If you want more info or would like to reserve a rental house,
please call us at 320-684-2233.

Eddy’s Resort:
A sea of red ice houses from Eddy’s is on the horizon—and they’re already starting to line our frozen shoreline!
Ice house bookings will be opening very soon, so stay tuned—we’re so excited!
Current ice conditions: 12–13 inches measured, with the ice road open to smaller vehicles near shore.
Learn more about ice road passes https://bit.ly/3a2AplT

The Mille Lacs Angler:
The crew was out plowing roads yesterday and all day today. We finally have enough snow for banking houses!
Ice Conditions:
We currently have 14 - 17" of ice within our road system, with the average being mostly 15 - 16".

Fishing Report
Perch: Jumbo Perch are hitting variations of perch patterns, as well as orange, red/gold, and blue spoons. The best bait has been a fathead head (or the whole minnow if it’s small). Focus on 20–25 feet of water in the soft bottom basins.
Walleye: Keepers are cruising between 11–22 feet. Look to the shallow rock piles overnight and deeper water during the morning and mid-day. "Wonderbread" patterns and red/white spoons with red hooks are the winners right now. Set lines with shiners or light suckers are seeing the most action.
Northern Pike: Most reports are coming from 8–15 feet, with the biggest fish coming from 10 feet or shallower. They are hitting sucker minnows and large shiners on tip-ups. We’ve seen some real dandies caught this year!
Vehicle Restrictions
• 1/2 Ton Trucks: Cleared to go out with tandem and single axle wheelhouses.
• 3/4 Ton Gas Trucks: Cleared with single axle houses.

Note to Seasonal Pass Holders: If you have a pass (or want one), please inquire about house sizes, as these restrictions may not apply to your specific setup.

Our office opens at 6:00 a.m. daily. If you have questions, call us at 320-674-0482.
We are excited to see you all for another great holiday week on the ice!

Garrison Sports Bait & Tackle:
We were able to finally start plowing roads yesterday out to the heave. We are still dealing with some shoreline issues and a crack near shore.
The plan for the weekend is we are going to let season pass holders 1/2 ton and single axle or smaller go. Tandems will have to be dollied then you can drive to them.
Pending what happens with the crack near shore we will start pulling skid houses on Monday. Privates will need to call and get on the list. If you not coming up for the following weekend we won’t pull you!
Otherwise we are still open to sxs, wheelers and sleds to get to the mud flats.
Thanks everyone see you this weekend!!

***Ice report***
Wind has finally settled down. We will be allowing side x sides and smaller out of access. We will shuttle you if you are in a rental. We will be pulling private houses starting today after lunch. You will have to access your house via side x side or smaller.

Beachside Resort
Our roads are holding up great and we are making ice! We have a lot of people out and fishing is good!
RESTRICTIONS:
We are lifting restrictions in the bay to rigs 20k pounds and less. We are seeing 17.5"+. Some of the best fishing has been in the bay.
We are changing our restrictions out past our bridge and are allowing 24' tandems or smaller pulled by half tons, or 3/4 ton trucks pulling single axle houses.
Diesel and 1 ton trucks are ok going out to the end of our road without a house.
Please make sure you don't fish in the road and that you are not setting up right next to the stakes. We also checked ice on our staked roads and prefer that you stay close by our plowed road system.
With all the holiday traffic it is important that you drive S-L-O-W! 10 MPH PLEASE. We want to keep the roads from cracking up and speed will do that. If we see you driving too fast we will pull your access pass, and we are doing that for everyone else's safety.
THE BITE:
The bite has remained good. Lots of big Walleye and a ton of the 12" variety. Perch bite has remained hot. Deeper gravel has beem doing great too! The bay has still been producing some nice keeper Walleye. Pink has still been the hottest color reported, with wonderbread a close 2nd.
BAIT:
We have Golden Shiners, Fat Heads, Small to Large Suckers and worms.

Go to www.beachsidemn.com to check availability and book your stay!

Mille Lacs Ice Report as of 12/12
Garrison Sports Bait & Tackle: are open to walkouts starting 12/12/25. They are finding 4-7” of ice out to about 18’ of water in the bay. The snow depths vary from bare ice to 12”. Walking isn’t terrible. Their bait tanks are full and ready for you. They will be opening at 7am from here on out!

Ice Camp Outfitters: Ice and fishing video link: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DSG4-F4jncp/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

North Mille Lacs Ice Fishing : Will be open to walking, atvs and snowmobiling traffic tomorrow, Thursday 12/11/25, to 1st and 2nd break lines. The office will be open at 6am please come in so we can direct you on where to park.

Nitti's Hunters Point Resort Will be open to snowmobile and 4-Wheeler traffic. All traffic need to stay on staked roads. The ice crew is measuring 8 to 9” of ice with some thin spots of 4”. Fishing reports have been good so far. Stop in at office to get pass and map. Video link : https://www.facebook.com/HunterspointMN/videos/825059717018884

Beachside Resort We were able to stake our main roads all the way out to 5 Mile Reef, which includes Beachside Banana, part of the Large Gravel Bar, and a hump on 4 Mile. For the most part we were seeing 9" of ice all the way out to 5 Mile Reef! We didnt find anything under 8", and we were looking under the largest snowpiles we could find. If we did see 8" it was surrounded by 9"+. We also are seeing a lot of 10" areas too. With the cold weather the sheet will be actively growing at a good rate.
We have some cold weather coming and we should hit the 12" mark sooner than later, and then we can start getting houses out (likely sometime next week!)
Starting 12/12/25 we will be allowing UTV, ATV and snowmobile traffic out on all our staked roads, which are staked out to 5 Mile Reef. There is a ton of great fishing between Beachside and 5 Mile, and everyone should be able to spread out nicely.
We will have a fishing contest starting tomorrow which is FREE with the purchase of a road pass.
We have bait and a great selection of tackle. We hope to see you this weekend!

Lyback's Ice Fishing: Yesterday, Stakes were set where out roads will be once we get enough ice to plow to the East Bar, Tundra, Banana and Tullibee Hole. Everywhere we went in the smoother ice it was an consistent 9″ of ice. Rougher areas up to 16″. Some cracks farther out around the Gravel but nothing wider than 2-4″
This year because of how the lake froze some areas we usually go to, (NW Graveyard, NW Spider, NE Twin) probably won’t happen due to layered 2-4″ thick ick stacked in some spots. But other areas that we were unable to fish because of the same problem last year we will be able to. So things will be changing some with roads, etc. as we get rolling next week.
Until the ice gets thicker we will be open for portable traffic. ATV,s, snowmobiles, smaller Side by sides. We have plenty of room for parking of rigs, and wheelhouses, (if you want to stay over) on land and going to clear some more snow off the area today. Just for the cost of an access fee, $20.00 per day. To make it more affordable for the one person fishermen, it’s $10.00 (one vehicle, one person). Everyone must stop and check in at the office before unloading and going on the lake.
Overall the bite the bite has been pretty good. Under slot Walleye almost everywhere and the “keepers” are in shallow, especially in the evenings. Perch are going in the basins.
It’s going to get pretty windy and cold tonight thru tomorrow, but after that going into next week will be some pretty nice weather for portables.

Brandt's Ice Fishing: We have 8 to 10’’ of ice, We are open to Atv, Snowmobile or foot traffic. At this time we are not plowing or staking any roads. We will wait for this cold snap and wind to pass through then we will kick off our season. We plan to start plowing and staking on Monday.

Castaways Resort: We have 6 to 8” of ice out to the break, Currently we are allowing foot traffic and snowmobile traffic out. So grab your sled and head on up for a fun weekend on Mille Lacs.

Castles Resort Ice conditions are good under the snow with 10" to 12" of really good ice.
We have a good road plowed all the way to the main lake across the bay and open to SxS, ATVs, Snowmobiles & Walkouts we do have are shuttle service running
Fishing with a barometer still in the mid 28 range consistently makes for a much better bite. 12' to 20' for walleye and Perch 8' ish for the Pike
The walleye are hitting on small flutter spoons with a minnow head and on dead sticks using larger minnows like shiners & smaller sucker minnows. Pike on tip ups and medium sucker minnows. Perch just any bait that is small waxies, worms, minnows
