Little Whitefish Resort and Cafe

Hi Everyone!
We wanted to provide an update on our plan for the resort this year. Great news is that cabins will run as usual and reservations are now open to book for summer 2026! Updated pictures of what we’ve been working on during the offseason will be posted later this spring.
In terms of the cafe, it saddens me to say we will not be open this summer. We spent this entire off-season processing this decision and did not come to it lightly. The cafe has been our family’s favorite part of the resort, connecting with guests and the community, but logistically Brian and I decided it just wouldn’t make sense with where we are at right now. We want the cafe to run at its full potential, and while we could never have even opened it in the first place and continued to run it without our amazing staff, we also want to be on-site and involved in it. We unfortunately cannot plan for that this year as we are still without resolve from our insurance company with our cabin fire. We hope you understand, and apologize in advance if this decision isn’t the one you were hoping for or expecting.
We want to thank all of you for your support in the cafe. We also want to give the biggest and utmost thanks to our core staff: Jeff, Carrie, and Jan who helped to open and keep the cafe running, working long hours to serve the community. Same goes to our wait staff over the years - thank you for everything! We couldn’t (and wouldn’t 😂) have done it without you.

3 years in, 3 years of amazing support, 3 years of fun adventures. While this year wouldn’t necessarily be considered “fun,” it definitely has been an adventure. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to celebrate our 3rd anniversary how we’d hope, but we do want to celebrate you-our followers and guests, for making these past 3 years great.

Hi all,
Many of you may have heard there was a fire near the resort today. Our personal house next door to the resort was the structure that burned down this afternoon. Everyone is ok.

As of now, we are still going to open the cafe this weekend. Please check back here to see if that changes at some point.

We appreciate more than words can say the Garrison, Onamia, Pierz, and Brainerd Fire departments and first responders for your tireless effort. We also want to thank the community and our neighbors for your support through this. Garrison is a wonderful community and we are proud to be a part of it.
