Our property manager is a pretty cool guy!

Thirty years on the force wasn't enough. He came back to serve again. This time, on the open water.

After three decades with Houston PD, most people would hang up their badge and finally take a breath. Deputy Constable Glen Dickerson chose a different path.

He looked around at the veterans and first responders in his community, the ones carrying invisible weight from years of service, and decided he wasn't done showing up for them.

Through his nonprofit, Glen takes heroes out on shark fishing trips as a form of adventure therapy. No clinical setting. No paperwork. Just open water, the thrill of the fight, and a group of people who understand each other in ways most never will.

A chance to heal. A chance to breathe. A chance to feel something powerful outside of the battles they carry every day.

That's what service looks like beyond the badge.

Nacogdoches County is full of people like Deputy Constable Dickerson quietly doing extraordinary things for the people who've given so much.
