We (Wanda Haberle Hammers and Sharon Kyle) have exciting news about a big project with a treasured purpose. We, along with Chris and Leigh Ann Daniels , are in the process of the restoration, and renovation of the old Hardware Building. We are in the process of declaring it a Texas Historical Building named Vintage Venue.
Vintage Venue will serve many purposes to enrich our community. It will be a venue that can be rented to host weddings, showers, galas, events, birthdays, activities, and much more.
It will also include:
Good Ole Attic, Picture Perfect Photos and Props, Rummage Restoration and Rentals, and a Memorial Garden, along with monthly activities and events.
Good Ole Attic will be an area dedicated to the history, heritage, and memorabilia of our town, Gary, originally known as Zuber.
Memorial Garden will be dedicated to loved ones who have passed. Consisting of a Garden Area, Shrubs, Trees, and Memorial Brick Walkways.
Picture Perfect Photos and Props will be indoor/outdoor backdrops and rentals available on site as well as other other destinations for photography use.
Rummage Restoration and Rentals will be furniture, decor, and props available for on and off sites rentals for events or photography.
Vintage Venue plans to host a variety of activities, socials, and events hosted once a month. These will eventually include things such as:
Game Night
Karaoke
Arts and Crafts
Cook Offs
Murder Mysteries
Movie Night
Parents Night Out
Jewelry Making
Talent Shows
Beauty Pagent
Back to School Alumni Reunion
and many other Variety Contest and Entertainment. As well as the return of the Gary Jamboree.
Vintage Venue will also be available for personal or business rentals for events, banquets, receptions, shows, birthdays, weddings, reunions, contests, or entertainment.
Our vision is to restore and bring back life, to not just the historical building. To provide a place for our community to gather and enjoy family, friends, and social events in a family community atmosphere.
Along with bringing the restoration, history, and memorabilia of one of the last standing historical buildings in our little town.
To provide fun activities and entertainment that include something for all ages to enjoy and bring our community as well as families and friends closer together.
The process of having it declared a historic building could possibly take up to a year. The renovation will be done in stages as well as all activities and events. As each stage is completed, it will allow for more events and activities to be held. The first phase will be getting the building dried in. We will then begin operating out of the first floor, later opening the second floor, as well as progress is made and completed.
We hope everyone is as excited as we are to bring this building back to life.
