Buffalo Ridge was once home to South Dakota’s first School for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Today, while fully renovated, the property still retains much of its

historical appeal, including a unique system of underground tunnels, originally used to allow the blind students to travel from one building to another in inclement weather.

Community Alert- with tornadoes a possibility tonight if you do not have a basement and the sirens go off Buffalo Ridge Resort rock room doors will be open for people to go into the tunnel.

Tornado watch tonight – if you don’t have a basement and the warning, sirens are going off everyone without a basement is welcome to come to Buffalo Ridge rock room from where you can enter our tunnels, and be safe. We can also open the bar / snacks at 10 should we get requests, if you want to play it safe… Should we have tornadoes! It’s a quick commute to tunnels! Be safe everyone! Pets are welcome on leashes …
