🚧TRAFFIC REMINDER FOR SPRING BREAK and summer vacations 🚧

Major I-40 construction in NC is focused on rebuilding a 20-mile stretch in the Pigeon River Gorge (Haywood County) damaged by Hurricane Helene, with full completion expected by late 2028. One lane is open in each direction, but major work continues, often causing significant delays, with permanent repair construction ongoing.

While one lane is currently open each way, it is highly recommended to take I-77 North to I-81 South as a detour if possible to get to the Smokies.

If you choose to come through Asheville and stay on I-40, expect slow speeds, potential delays, and temporary closures in the Pigeon River Gorge/Smoky Mountains area. In other words, pack your patience. Then, have a great vacation when you get here 🙌

Official measurement of snow by our property manager 1 ft of snow!! Last time we had that much snow was Christmas 2010 and had guest from Florida with 3 young boys and was their first time to see snow!!☃️❄️

Pray for safety for all. No one can get up or down our hills even in 4 wheel drive. So glad we don’t have guests!!

It’s a winter wonderland at Bearway to Heaven and captured this bear on our camera this morning running through the snow. It’s 15 degrees and 5-8” snow predicted in Gatlinburg!

Wish we were there!!
