🦋 A Smoky Mountain legend has gone home.

Today we remember a woman who never forgot these mountains—even after the entire world knew her name.

Dolly Parton could have belonged anywhere.

She chose to keep belonging here.

She celebrated the people, stories, faith, music and beauty of East Tennessee. She created jobs, gave back to her neighbors, opened doors for children and families, and helped turn the Smoky Mountains into a place people from around the world dream of visiting.

Every cabin tucked into these hills, every family making memories in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, and every small business welcoming another visitor has felt the ripple of what Dolly built here.

At Bearly-A-Beat, we’re simply grateful to call a tiny piece of the mountains she loved so much our home away from home.

Thank you, Dolly.

For the music.
For the laughter.
For the generosity.
For never forgetting home.
And for showing millions of people why these mountains are worth loving.

Our camera at Bearly-A-Beat caught a momma bear and her cubs taking a leisurely stroll through the driveway. 🐻❤️

While we can never guarantee wildlife sightings, sharing the mountains with incredible animals like these is part of what makes Gatlinburg so special. Just remember to admire them from a safe distance and always respect their space.
