Some of our favorite hikes while we are at Smoky Mountain Dream. . We really like waterfalls. These hikes are within 1 to1 1/2 hour drive from Smoky Mountain Dream.

* Soco Falls, NC (1/2 in and out -very steep) beautiful double waterfalls

*Kuwohi formerly Clingman’s Dome (1/2 mile all incline (up and down 1.3 miles total), Beautiful views, wide paved path with places to sit)

*Husky Branch Falls via Little River Trail (Out & Back trail, 4.3 mile total, flat level wide gravel trail, trail follow a river)

*Gabes Mountain Trail to Hen Wallow Falls (Cosby) (4.5 mile hike Out & Back, some rocks, narrow bridges, some incline)

*Mouse Creeek Falls via Big Creek Trail (4 mile Out & back, a bit rocky, beautiful along river)

*Mingo Fall (Cherokee, NC, .3 mile in and out, ALL stairs 168 of them a little rocky on the end, Waterfall is tall and stunning, this is one of my favorite trails)

We just got back from Smoky Mountain Dream and had the BEST time exploring some local attractions — we had to share with our guests! 🏔️✨

🎢 A day at Dollywood is an absolute must! From incredible shows and daring rollercoasters to water rides and museums all about Dolly Parton, there is truly something for everyone. And don’t even get me started on the cinnamon bread… it’s worth the trip alone 😍
➡️ One day is NOT enough! If you're visiting with a group or plan to come back, consider a season pass to save some money.

🌧️ On those chilly or rainy days, we checked out some indoor fun with Ripley's Entertainment!
We loved the aquarium, funhouse, indoor mini golf, and laser tag.
💡 Tip: Grab a multi-attraction pass — it can be used for multiple people, and any unused scans are good for up to a year!

🧠 Another favorite was WonderWorks Pigeon Forge — a super fun, hands-on museum for all ages! Think 360 bikes, a gyro ride, 4D theater, ropes course, and unlimited laser tag. So much to do!

⏰ One thing we noticed — both WonderWorks and the aquarium get BUSY on cold, rainy days, but start to clear out around 5:30pm if you’re looking to avoid the crowds.
