❄️ Historic winter storm in Gatlinburg!

January 31, 2026 now ranks among the top 5 largest snowfalls ever recorded in the area. For comparison, the famous March 1993 snowfall was a two-day event, with some parts of the Smokies receiving over 30 inches during that storm.

Once again, the Smoky Mountains delivered — turning Gatlinburg into a true winter wonderland. Stay warm, stay safe, and enjoy the incredible views! ❄️🏔️

Our Summer for 2021 is almost full. We have a few dates left, including a property or two with 4th of July week open. Now is the time to plan for your Fall and holiday vacations. If you are looking for a slower time of year to visit choose the time right after the kids go back to school in late August and September. It starts to get busy again in early October through the first week in November for leaf viewing. Then the holiday crowd starts picking up around Thanksgiving through New Year's. If you are planning a trip during the holidays of Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's book your dates early! Every year in October and early November we start receiving calls from desperate travelers looking for rental cabins to celebrate the holidays in. Our cabins and others always book up well in advance. As time gets closer there will eventually be nothing left anywhere in the area to rent. Everything will be booked solid again this season, so plan now and do not be that person who waited too long to book. You can check out our properties below!

This is the current situation at our Smoky Mountain Sunrise cabin. Gatlinburg is socked in with heavy snow. This was the first white Christmas in 10 or 11 years! Many were hoping for a white Christmas, but not one without power! Heavy snow is covering the grounds. Still many thousands without power due to the extremely high winds and heavy snow last night. Luckily, we have a generator here for our guests at this cabin. Power was also just restored at this location.

We still have a couple cabins with no power and are hoping the power crews can get the power back on soon. Our guests have been extremely understanding considering the situation. Acts of God no one can control, but good people can come together to make bad situations better! This storm will be one to remember. This is a unusual and very rare event for the area.

We recently had souvenir magnets made for each of our cabins. Since we just had these made we did not have them at our cabins for purchase during past guest's stays. If you would like one, or more than one, let us know and we can send you a PayPal invoice to pay.

These were crafted right here in Gatlinburg by a local artisan. These are laser engraved 3 layer wooden magnets that will make a very nice keepsake for years to come.
