This week construction has begun on the new Judicial Complex which will be located at the Community Dog Park/Pontresina Park. We are excited to be able to announce that the Community Dog Park will be able to remain OPEN during the 2026 season while construction is taking place. With that being said, this season will look a bit different for those dogs and dog owners that utilize the Community Dog Park. Firstly, we will not be able to have the water turned on to provide water for the dogs, or dog owners, enjoying the park. Please be sure to bring water for you and your dog if you think it will be necessary. Secondly, the parking lot and entrances that have been historically used to enter the Community Dog Park will not be able to be utilized moving forward due to the construction. The main entrance to the Community Dog Park for this season will now be located off of South Illinois Avenue, where there is street parking available. You will see the Community Dog Park sign at the gate to enter the fenced it area. Lastly, the “big dog” fenced in section of the Community Dog Park (which is the bigger of the two fenced in areas) will be the only section opened for the remainder of the 2026 season. This means all dogs, big and small, will now all be playing together in the same area. We ask that the dog owners be mindful of that while both you and your dog are enjoying the Community Dog Park. We again are very happy to have been able to keep the Community Dog Park open for the 2026 season while construction is taking place and look forward to seeing the park continue being enjoyed by dogs and their owners throughout the season.
