New in town. Looking forward to their being able to open. Congratulations Corner Project Ales & Eats
You want the good news or bad news first?
Bad news. Welp, you all know the bad news. This industry is all but shut down. That means 13 million plus people are out of jobs. Linecooks, prep cooks, baristas, bakers, bartenders, dishwashers, servers, farmers, linen service employees...the list goes on. The impact of this on families is staggering. Many of our friends who own businesses in this industry have had to furlough or lay those folks off outright. It’s a grim scene and hopefully the government assistance will arrive soon. It’s imperative that it does arrive in order for this industry to get back on its feet swiftly. Let’s hope they get it right.
Pictured is the good news! We received this on Friday. It’s bittersweet, for obvious reasons, but also because we’d been planning some parties and to soft open this week. Maybe we got lucky on the timing as we’re not dealing with what all our comrades are grappling with currently. In any event, we finally crossed the finish line. All of our efforts over the last two years have been focused on obtaining this certificate! Being green to the process and having two young kids did NOT speed things along. This project has seen the shut down from three fires, a flood, an evacuation and now a pandemic. It’s hard to feel celebratory amidst the chaos (though we managed some shots Friday night), but we wanted to let you all know that we’re still here, breathing, and forging ahead. Copious amounts of Face Time and Zoom with all our friends and family has helped a ton. We’re still trying to navigate our place in this mess but we’ll keep you updated right here with our decisions on how best we decide to proceed. Our goal is the same as it’s always been: To give you a fun place with good vibes, killer beer and delicious food. We’re all going to need that when the time is right. Until then, thanks, once again, for all the support. Take care of one another out there. Support small business where you can. Be nice and be patient with each other, and we’ll see you on the other side.
