The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall
Comes to Glens Falls in August
Now seeking donations, sponsorships and volunteers
GLENS FALLS, NEW YORK — The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall, a three-fifths scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., will be coming to Glens Falls in August 2026.
This powerful tribute honors the more than 58,000 men and women who lost their lives in service during the Vietnam War, and provides an opportunity for remembrance, education, and healing.
Sponsorships are now available and volunteers are sought, with more information available at https://vietnamwallgf.com/.
The event will take place in Crandall Park from August 21 to 23, 2026, with a procession on August 20 as it arrives from Lake George. It will be open to the public 24 hours a day during its stay. Visitors will be able to search for names of loved ones, reflect at the wall, and participate in ceremonies honoring veterans and Gold Star families.
The effort, led by Nancy Turner, Warren County Supervisor representing Glens Falls’ Third Ward, is being coordinated locally by a community committee in partnership with the Glens Falls Collaborative, which is serving as the sponsoring 501(c)6 organization.
Planning is already underway to provide round-the-clock staffing, security, accessibility accommodations, and special programming.
“This is going to take a big team,” says Ms. Turner. “We’re inviting the whole community to be part of bringing this important memorial to our area, whether through volunteering, donating, or simply showing up to honor those who served.”

Volunteer: Assist with setup, visitor support, security, information tables, or welcoming guests.
Sponsor: Sponsorship opportunities are available at all levels. Contributions will go toward event expenses including lighting, sound, tents, spreading the word, and volunteer support. Any additional funds will be directed back into veterans’ organizations.
