Posting about my newspaper paste-up job had some people politely asking if I also witnessed the invention of electricity.

Good thing I didn’t mention my mother worked as a telegraph operator. Yep, that’s approximately one career stop away from delivering messages by horse.

I promised I would quit the Artificial Intelligence content here on IG but it will be as profoundly significant for entrepreneurs (and everybody!) as was the invention of electricity.

For the record, I’m not that old.

What does this video have ANYthing to do with a vacation get-away?? A few things …

My first “real” job was hands-on - trimming, waxing, and designing layouts with an X-Acto knife until 3 am each night. I can still smell the wax today.

The midnight shift to earn college money taught me more than just my caffeine limits. It taught me precision and patience, and it taught me how our senses tie memories to a moment.

Some places always stay with you - the smell of a wood shop, a bakery, a crackling fire in a cabin, and a printing press. (Really, I’m not that old. I just got an early start).

When desktop publishing replaced paste-up in a newspaper room, it didn’t diminish my ability to think; it expanded what I was capable of. AI has the same potential when used thoughtfully.

What literally what took me hours each night now takes minutes with AI.

Today, everything is faster but memorable stays aren’t built fast.

For our guests, my mindset is all about taking the time to get the details right, keeping it authentic and creating something people feel with all their senses. I’ll let the tools change, but not the standards.

I’ll be removing this post after Artemis II splashes down tonight because:

• It’s unapologetic clickbait
• I’ve clearly spent too much time playing with AI
• The world has had enough nerve-wracking descents lately (space travel excluded)
• And self-control is overrated

We’ll be offline this weekend pretending social media doesn’t exist.

You might want to try it too ..after booking your escape to , obviously.

When the adventure ends, cool comfort matters and we all know that not every mountain home has A/C.

Why are we different? Aspenwood House has a new high-capacity central air system designed to keep you and your family and the entire house comfortable!

It’s gonna be a hot one this summer so plan that mountain escape asap to cool air and river breezes! 💦🐠🍹

Okkkk, I found myself at this weekend wondering how many more runs I have left in me this season. I’m grateful for the snow we still have here.

consistently had the most skiable acreage open in Colorado (and Utah) this winter — more than 5K acres across four mountains. Highland Bowl and Hero’s have been holding great snow all season.

Is it a low-snow year? Sure.
Was it a no-snow year? Not even close.

And we may still get a wayward snowstorm or two so I’m not putting the skis away just yet.

If late snow happens, will still be here waiting for a few more with the best views! Annnnnd we’ve reduced our nightly minimum to 2 nights and special pricing for 1-4 guests!

We closed out the 25th Winter Olympic Games 🌍✨along with our Give-Away ✈️ 🎊 with a dose of snow tubing this weekend!

Congrats to our Bay Area & Aspen hometown winners, the fabulous Alex Ferreira and Alysa Liu, the mighty Jordan Stolz, the marvelous Mikaela Shiffrin and the wonderful Women’s Hockey team.

As former HS hockey players, we know this: the scoreboard shows the champion but the locker room reveals the character -- and we can always choose to be better in both places.
