This is an update of what is happening at GVRA. We have discussed the concerns that many have been asking about and are addressing them as follows:
1) Is the resort opening? Yes, however due to covid19 circumstances it will be limited as in the following information.
2) Will the bath house be available? The bath house will be closed, however the fish cleaning house will have water available for cleaning fish. Use sanitizing practices as anywhere else for entering or exiting.
3). Mowing service and garbage collection? The mower service will happen as in the past, however we are asking all of you to bring your own garbage to the dumpster in the boat yard. We are trying to limit the exposure to our maintenance personnel.
4) Store accessible? The store (club house) will be off limits except for the laundry services therein. We are planning on placing sanitizing wipes or disinfectant by the door and inside for you to use if you need to use the clothes washer/dryer. Please use these disinfectants for (door k***s, or anything you touch) on your way in to protect yourself, and do the same on the way out as a courtesy to protect the next person to enter the facility.
5 Will the beach, swim area, docks, and lifts be open? yes, but we are asking you to maintain the "safe distance guidelines" or stay 6 feet from any other person, including while swimming in the water.
6) Will the playground be available? The playground and swing set will be roped off. Please keep your child or children away from these areas, as it would be difficult to keep safe from covid19 transmissions.
7) Please, Please monitor your kids' activities around the campground, they are your responsibility, not someone else's.
Each cabin/camper has its own bathroom facility, so please use them. We will have water and sewer services running and available as in the past. Until further notice, these guidelines will be in place pending any changes from the Minnesota Department of Health. Please heed and obey what we are asking not only for the sake of compliance, but as a courtesy to your fellow campers.
As of this email, I can report that it will be too soon to start up water to some of the sites. The frost is prevalent around the resort as usual, especially in the line section closest to the lake. This is part of the woods zone and therefore would freeze if activated. In the past we have left a small amount of water trickle out of a garden hose, but some good Samaritan noticed the water running when it was unattended and closed the valve, causing the water to stop in line and freeze. It took another two weeks for that section to thaw out.
As a disclaimer, we are trying to keep everyone safe by enacting these measures, and again asking you all to please help out in the effort. We may have missed something in this email, but use common sense.
