You can’t call yourself his girlfriend while he’s still married to his wife.

That’s not a relationship status.
That’s a side position.

A title doesn’t change the reality of the situation. If he’s still legally and emotionally tied to someone else, then what you have isn’t a clean start, it’s overlap.

You can dress it up however you like.
Call it love.
Call it complicated.
Call it “their marriage was already over.”
But until he’s actually free, you’re not his girlfriend.

You’re just the woman he’s seeing while he’s still someone else’s husband.
