With surrounding communities battling brush/forest fires, we have once again been asked by the fire chief to suspend wood camp fires until further notice (and quite a bit of rain). Campers may use charcoal in grills up off of the ground or propane cook stoves but wood fires are not be allowed at this time.

Trust us when we say it pains us to not allow campfires but last year our community fought a forest fire for more than 30 days and we need to respect the safety of our neighbors. Thank you for understanding.

This Massachusetts State Police helicopter is dropping water on the smoky fire that's still burning in Lynn Woods. Most of the state will be under a fire weather watch this week https://www.wcvb.com/article/lynn-woods-massachusetts-brush-fire-weather-watch-red-flag/43892383

Don't forget about the new reservation system for parking at Gloucester Beaches. It was a HUGE success last year and eliminated quite a bit of traffic. We tell people to set a reminder in your phone 10 days before you are visiting! Please reach out to the City of Gloucester or Gloucester Beaches (below) with any questions.

Reservations will be required for non-residents at Good Harbor Beach, Wingaersheek Beach, and Stage Fort Park starting Memorial Day Weekend!

Our beaches fill up quickly in the summertime, and the City will utilize an online beach parking reservation system for non-resident beachgoers. The City will use the Blinkay parking management platform for non-resident beach reservations this season. Reservations can be made on the Blinkay mobile app or the Blinkay website. The new platform will build on the success of the last beach season and improve the user experience.

Reservations can be made up to 10 days in advance and are required for non-resident parking at Good Harbor Beach, Wingaersheek Beach, and Stage Fort Park. Cash will no longer be accepted at the gates.

Stay tuned for more updates on the Blinkay platform!
