Fall on the Rogue might be a best-kept secret. Warm days, cooler mornings, plenty of sunshine, and a river full of ways to explore make this a beautiful time to plan an adventure.
🛶 Go rafting - guided trips continue into fall, from relaxed floats to multi-day whitewater adventures through the Wild Rogue.
🎣 Go fishing — fall Chinook are making their way into the Rogue, while summer steelhead offer another reason to get out on the water.
🥾 Hit the trail — comfortable temperatures make
September a great time to explore riverside hikes like Rainie Falls or venture farther along the Rogue River
National Recreation Trail.
🌲 Stay awhile - turn the trip into an overnight adventure with camping or a stay at one of the historic lodges tucked along the river.
And as September moves toward fall, keep your eyes on the water as Chinook salmon return farther upriver toward their spawning grounds.

✨ Thomas Creek Bridge: Oregon’s Majestic Sky-High Crossing 👀

Prepare to be awestruck as you gaze upon the magnificent Thomas Creek Bridge, an engineering marvel gracefully spanning a deep canyon on the Southern Oregon Coast! Located right on U.S. Route 101 within the breathtaking Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor, this bridge isn’t just a crossing—it’s a destination in itself.

A Feat of Engineering and History: Completed in 1961, the Thomas Creek Bridge is a testament to mid-20th century design. It’s a striking Warren deck truss bridge, stretching an impressive 956 feet (291 meters) in total length, with its longest single span reaching 371 feet (113 meters). But here’s the most astounding fact: at 345 feet (105 meters) high, it proudly holds the title of the highest bridge in Oregon!
