Up and Down the Bayou… Christmas Style!

Have you ever heard the Cajun story of Papa Noël?
Here along Bayou Lafourche, the legend tells of a Louisiana Santa who doesn’t travel by sleigh at all—instead, he glides down the bayou in a little pirogue pulled by friendly alligators! Lanterns light his way from one riverside home to the next, and children wait to hear the soft splash of his paddle on Christmas Eve.

It’s a sweet reminder of how our traditions—just like our bayou—run deep with culture, family, and a little Cajun magic.

We’re preparing for his arrival next week—so keep your eyes on the bayou and your hearts full of Cajun cheer. Papa Noël is on his way!
