I've lost my job as the Official Inn Dog, cuz Annette and Bill sold the inn to Elizabeth and Ric. Here's their new page for the inn. The good news is that I still get to meet lots of people in our new apartment building. It's a little weird, though -- instead of just going out the door to get outside, I have to go into a little room and close the door and then come out again to get to the outside. The first time, it freaked me out a little, cuz it felt like the floor was dropping out from under me, but I'm used to it now.

Sometimes when Annette and I are almost done with our walk, we stop and talk to the new owners across the street who are changing Tony Rigatoni's into a Thai restaurant. (I think I would like Thai food; I think I would like all food....)

It's pretty hot here today (pant, pant, pant), but Bill and Annette tell me the temperatures will be better for the rest of the week. Everybody in the inn gets air conditioning except me....

Annette and I walk past the Clear Creek History Park every day. I like to look at the chickens, though I'm not quite sure what they're for. In the summer, there are lots of people there and sometimes there are donkeys, too. It's like an old-timey farm in the middle of town. I like it because I'm a farm dog without a farm.

I love meeting all the people who come to the Dove Inn. I'm not allowed to meet them during breakfast, but after breakfast I'm available for tummy rubs.

We've been watching the helicopter fly over the fire and drop water. There's a lot less smoke than yesterday, and it looks like things are more under control (as long as the wind stays pretty calm, which it is now).

Nothing to get excited about, but the air sure smells strange around the inn today.
