The birds are flocking in this cold morning for the sunflower seeds we have in the bird feeder. Woodpeckers, canaries, finches, wrens, cardinals, titmouses, sparrows, but no doves. I miss the pair we had.

The hummingbirds are still feeding..saw 21 feeding this morning..including an albino which the others were trying to run off ..plus we are enjoying rain showers

It's time to thaw out and get those RV's ready for new adventures. Spring is right around the corner and along with spring comes festivals. The first one in our area will be the Red Fern Festival in Tahlequah, April 25 & 26, an old-fashioned fun event featuring hound dog field trials, 1930s era children's games, a car show and more. The Red Fern Festival was inspired by the renowned novel, "Where the Red Fern Grows" by native author Wilson Rawls. The novel, which was set in Tahlequah, evokes simpler times. The festival itself capitalizes on this theme of simplicity with a wide array of old-fashioned events perfect for the whole family. One of Tahlequah's premier events, the Red Fern Festival features unique and rustic food vendors, a barbecue cook-off, live music, a tractor parade, crawdad hole and plenty of children's activities. Come to this award-winning event and transport yourself back to the 1930s while also touring locations from the novel. Come stay with us and take the short drive north. In less than a month Spring will be upon us and many will be relaxing for Spring Break, so start making plans now to come and stay with us at Golden Pond RV Park. We have a couple of new pads set up for your RV's and are looking at expanding again soon. Remember, relaxing is free and so is the fishing at Golden Pond.
