Planning a Grand Canyon trip during the federal shutdown? Here’s what you need to know:

✅ Still Open:
→ Park access + shuttles
→ Hotels, lodges, restaurants, shops
→ Library, laundry & post office

🚫 Limited/Closed:
→ Visitor centers
→ Ranger programs
→ Reduced bathroom cleaning & trash collection

🌄 North Rim Update: As of October 1, select North Rim areas (like Cape Royal + Point Imperial) are open daily until sunset through late November or first snowfall.

Your visit will feel almost normal. Trails, viewpoints, dining, and lodging are still open! Just be ready to pack out your trash and explore without ranger-led programs.
The Canyon is as awe-inspiring as ever. With a little preparation, you’ll still have an unforgettable trip. 💛

Studies show that time in nature reduces stress, lowers blood pressure, improves mood, and even boosts immune function. ✨ At Highland, we see it every day - guests arrive wound up from life and leave feeling lighter, calmer, and reconnected.
Here’s what a stay looks like:
🌌 Less screen time → more stargazing
Looking up at a Dark Sky zone (with 5 miles between you and the nearest lights) helps reset your circadian rhythm and promote better rest.
🌲 Less noise → more forest air
Quiet time among ponderosa pines and junipers reduces cortisol and supports mental clarity.
🛏 Less stress → deeper sleep
King-sized memory foam beds, heated mattress pads, and down duvets make “roughing it” restorative.
🌄 Less routine → more adventure
Trade commutes and to-do lists for sunrise hikes, horseback rides, and canyon overlooks - experiences that boost joy, and create lasting memories with your loved ones.
Highland isn’t just glamping. It’s an invitation to let nature work its quiet magic.
📍 Open through October 19th. Book your reset before the season ends!

We can’t wait to host you ✨
