Great news from the LDWF on a few more days of red snapper season this year!!!!

Louisiana’s recreational Red Snapper season will reopen for 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗿-𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗱𝘀.

The recreational Red Snapper season closed had closed on August 9, 2026, based upon harvest estimates and projections at that time. Current LA Creel data shows that approximately 35,109 pounds, or 4%, of Louisiana’s 2026 private recreational allocation remains.

📅 𝗥𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀/𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀:

▪️𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁. 𝟰–𝟳

The season will reopen at 12:01 a.m. on the first day of each period and close at 11:59 p.m. on the final day.

The reopening applies to 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘀 fishing in Louisiana state waters and federal waters off Louisiana.

⚠️This modification does not apply to federally permitted charter boats operating under federal law during federally established seasons and under federally established rules for those vessels.

🚫After Sept. 7, the recreational Red Snapper season will close until further notice.

Y'all be on the lookout, several labs across the Gulf are putting tags out in/on Cobia and Tripletail. Make sure to clip the dart tag if you release the fish, also make sure the tag states it is part of the award and not part of other tagging programs.

Registration is now open for the ladies fishing rodeo at Bridgeside. We have open dates for this rodeo but our fall availability is filling up fast.

🎉Sea Turtle Release tomorrow on Grand Isle Monday, July 27th!🎉Join us as we release four sea turtles back into the Gulf after being successfully rehabbed! The release will be on Grand Isle beach, at crossover 3.2 at 12:30pm.

Update regarding Tarpon:

🚨 IMPORTANT UPDATE – 2026 International Grand Isle Tarpon Rodeo 🎣
Due to the current weather forecast and out of an abundance of caution, festivities at the Grand Isle Tarpon Rodeo Pavilion will not begin until 5:00 PM on Thursday, July 23.
The 2026 International Grand Isle Tarpon Rodeo is still scheduled for July 23–25, and organizers are continuing to closely monitor weather conditions.
📢 Event organizers will provide another update Tuesday afternoon if any additional changes become necessary.
If you plan to fish on Thursday, please use your best judgment, monitor the latest weather conditions, and always put safety first.
We appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued support as we work to ensure a safe and successful rodeo for everyone.
