Most people think of Grand Isle when they think about Louisiana beaches, but Rutherford Beach remains one of the state's most overlooked coastal destinations. Located in Cameron Parish, the beach offers wide open shoreline, incredible sunsets, and a peaceful atmosphere rarely found at more popular coastal spots. Visitors often have huge stretches of sand almost entirely to themselves. The drive there takes you through remote marshes and coastal landscapes that showcase another side of Louisiana. Shell hunting, fishing, and simply watching the Gulf make for a relaxing day. The beach feels raw and authentic compared to heavily developed destinations elsewhere. It's a reminder that Louisiana's coastline still contains hidden treasures waiting to be discovered.
