Nestled on the western slope of Rocky Mountain National Park are the quaint cottages of the Daven Haven Lodge. Located just off of the Main Street of Grand Lake Village Colorado, sits our renowned cabins, Backstreet Steakhouse restaurant, bar, and lounge showcasing one of Grand Lake’s most coveted dining patios. With picturesque Point Park only a lazily 5 minute walk away from the grounds, guest c
an easily access the Grand Lake shoreline and take in the breathtaking views of magnificent Mount Baldy. With only 3 long-term owners since its conception in the 1930s, (Lester and Cornelia Piper and Cornelia's mother Mrs. Davis), the Daven Haven and it’s sister Catering company Stone Creek Catering continues the tradition of exceptional hospitality within the beautiful natural setting of the Rocky Mountains. Our 5 fire pits, exceptional cocktails, cozy cabins and award winning steaks continue to bring visitors to our door season after season. Grand Lake’s original Main Street still crosses in front of the present day lodge, originally housing the local gas station and several small tourist cabins. Our authentic tourist cabins still remain on the rear of the property and are used today as employee housing. The original owners, the Pipers and Mrs. Davis owned and operated Daven Haven until 1968 when they sold to Tom and Betty Sowell, who continued to build up their clientele and great reputation into the 80's when they left Daven Haven. Tom and Betty bid farewell and the lodge remained closed for a few years and in 1990 reopened with its present owners Greg & Carey Barnes, their sons Dustin & Patrick and their dog Buddie. Now in their 26th season, the Daven Haven atmosphere is still a comforting place to come back to time and time again, with several familiar faces welcoming back our long time guests and greeting our new ones. We also have cabins for rent also with many enticing specials throughout the winter. If you want to bring your pet child we also have some cabins that can accommodate them also. You will love the environment here, tucked in the Spruce and Pine trees, with privacy in this winter wonderland. There are so many activities in the area such as snowmobiling, ice fishing, cross country skiing, down hill skiing, or just wondering through the Quaint village of Grand Lake to enjoy the shops downtown.
