We're Mike & Ali - husband and wife, full-time Grand Lake locals, and the proud owners of Lupine Village since 2016.

Being here year-round means we know this town from the inside out - not just the postcard version. Mike stays involved in the community and its events, Ali runs the social side for Grand Lake, Colorado, and together we've spent years learning the rhythm of this place: the quiet trailheads, the spots for a paddle on the lakes, the little things that turn a good trip into one you talk about all winter.

Friday's 79th Annual Buffalo Days Movie Night with Lupine Village started out about as perfect as it gets ... and ended with a big splash. ☔️😄 Nothing like a little excitement to remind you why Buffalo Days weekend is the most fun you'll have all year in Grand Lake.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out, and to the volunteers and vendors who put in the work to make this night what it is.

Some summers you just want to last forever, and Friday, we're kicking off Buffalo Days with the movie that captured exactly that feeling. ⚾️

The Lupine Village at Grand Lake Movie in the Park is back, and this year we're watching The Sandlot.

Bring your blankets, camp chairs, and the whole family for an only-in-Grand-Lake kind of night under the stars. KFFR 88.3 FM will be there serving up drinks and there'll be kettle corn for munchin' 🍿

Pack a cozy layer, claim your patch of grass early, and come make some memories to last a lifetime. Heroes get remembered, but a good Grand Lake movie night? That's the stuff legends are made of. ⚾️

Music to our ears ☔️

If you're visiting Lupine Village at Grand Lake, Colorado in July or August, you'll notice a pattern: clear mornings, building clouds by early afternoon, and thunderstorms rolling through most days. That's Colorado's monsoon season. It's predictable enough that you can plan your day around it.

How to plan your day:
Front-load your outdoor time. Hikes, lake days, and drives up to Rocky Mountain National Park are best done in the morning or before noon. By 1-3pm, storms are common, and above treeline that's not a place you want to be when lightning starts. Afternoons are a good time to head back to the cabin, grab lunch in town, or duck into one of the shops on Grand Ave until it passes.

What to pack:
Layers, always. A rain jacket or light shell packs better than an umbrella once the wind picks up. Storms usually blow through in 30-45 minutes, so it's rarely a full day lost - just a good excuse for a coffee break.

Why we don't have AC:
At 8,369 feet, you won't need it. Summer highs top out in the 70s-80s, and those afternoon storms drop the temperature fast. Nights cool into the 40s-50s even in August.

Come prepared, and the storms won't get in the way of a great stay.

You're killing me, Smalls - it's official! The Buffalo Days Movie in the Park hosted by Lupine Village at Grand Lake is THE SANDLOT! ⚾

Join us Friday evening, August 14 in Grand Lake, Colorado as we kick off Buffalo Days weekend the way we love best: the big screen in the park, the mountains going dark behind us, and folks gathered on the lawn. Bring your blankets, camp chairs, and dinner - and maybe a baseball glove for good measure.

If you've never been, here's what to expect: families stake out spots as the sun sets, kids running the grass until the movie starts, and that moment when the screen lights up and everyone settles in together. It's one of our favorite nights of the summer, and it's only the beginning! Buffalo Days runs all weekend long.

The new 2026-27 Grand Lake Guidebook has arrived, and you'll find a copy waiting in your cabin when you check in at Lupine Village.

It's the best trip-planning tool in town: maps, events, trails, Rocky Mountain National Park information, and a full directory of local shops and restaurants, all within walking distance or a short drive of Lupine Village. Flip through it over your morning coffee and build your day from there.

🪻 Every summer, thousands of people drive over Berthoud Pass on their way to Grand Lake. And every summer near the summit, the lupines bloom.

For years, that bloom was our signal on drives up from the city - the lupines meant we were almost there. So when it came time to name the cabins, the choice was easy.

If you're making the drive to Lupine Village this summer, watch for them near the top of the pass. 🪻

Ten years ago we welcomed our first guests to Lupine Village. This month, Airbnb named us Superhosts for the 38th consecutive quarter.

Superhost status isn't something you apply for. It's measured in guest ratings, response times, and reliability, four times a year, every year. Earning it 38 straight times means a decade of guests trusted us with their Grand Lake vacations and left happy.

What sets Lupine Village apart? Location, for one. Our six cabins sit steps from the boardwalk and two blocks from Grand Lake, so you park once and walk everywhere: restaurants, shops, the beach, the lake.
