Our historic lodge is the largest remaining whole log structure in the entire region which has been preserved and maintained over the years to retain the look and feel of a time gone by. We also have 11 great cabins that sit right on the shore’s edge of the pristine waters of Clearwater lake. We also provide outfitted canoe trips and rental gear for those wanting to paddle, camp and explore the BWCA.

Most businesses in the area saw a huge hit to their foot traffic due to wildfire smoke and are expecting to see a big return this weekend, Sarah Jorgenson-Hallberg, who owns Java Moose Cafe in downtown Grand Marais, told MPR News.

Last night’s rain brought another welcome soaking to the Gunflint Trail with more showers expected throughout today.

Even better, today’s air quality is in the green and the forecast looks promising for the next several days.

If you’ve been thinking about heading up the Trail, now is a great time. Our lodges, outfitters, restaurants and local businesses are open and would love to welcome you. Your visit makes a real difference to the people and communities that call the Gunflint Trail home.
