These front doors have welcomed thousands and thousands of people through our 48 years. We were so thankful we were able to save them after the fire and use them in our new building. Chip has told the story many times of how his mom and Dad were in Alabama speaking with the people from Delta Queen, in the attempt to have the famous riverboat stop in Grand Rivers. While there, they went on antique shopping trip, as Chip was redoing the entrance to Patti's. They came across this set of doors, made in the 1600's. They loaded them in the van, brought them home, and the rest is history.

Here are the top frequently asked questions about the Festival of Lights display and Dining at Patti's 1880’s Settlement:

~ Do I need reservations to dine in the restaurant during the holidays, and how far in advance can I book?
YES, the next two months are our busiest, with an average of 4,500 to 5,500 calls daily. Currently, all Saturdays through the end of the year are fully booked. Please call for any potential cancellations, we do not maintain a cancellation list due to the high volume of calls. We are also accepting bookings for next holiday season if you wish to plan ahead for 2025.

~ Do I need a reservation to see the lights?
NO, the Festival of Lights display is free and open to everyone.

~ Are the lights on every night?
YES, the lights will be illuminated starting the 1st Friday of November and will be on nightly from 4 PM to 10 PM until January 31st.

~ Will you be Open on Thanksgiving this year? NO, we are excited that our Employees can enjoy a day with family and friends.

~ What days will you be closed for Christmas?
Patti's Settlement will be closed on December 24th, 25th, and 26th. However, the Festival of Lights will still be on during these closure days.

~ Is there a charge for Santa, and will there be someone to take photos?
Visiting Santa and Mrs. Claus is always FREE as part of the Festival of Lights experience. We encourage you to bring your cameras, as there are plenty of photo opportunities to enjoy during the display.

~ Do you sell gift cards?
Yes, gift cards are available for purchase at the restaurant and online.

~ Does T. Lawson's Grill accept reservations? YES
