🎭 Mardi Gras Parade & Street Fair
Sunday, February 15 | 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Bring your masks and your moxie! Downtown transforms into a mini New Orleans with a festive street fair followed by the famous parade at 2:00 PM. Expect colorful floats, "The Merry Widows," and plenty of beads flying through the air.
Pro Tip: Arrive early to snag a spot on Broad Street and browse the masks at the N. Pine Street fair!
🐉 Chinese Lunar New Year Festival
Tuesday, February 17 (Official Lunar New Year)
Celebrate the Year of the Fire Horse! In Nevada City, the community honors its deep Chinese heritage with a traditional parade featuring Lion and Dragon dances.
Look Out For: The parade typically starts at the bottom of Commercial Street, followed by family-friendly entertainment at the Miners Foundry.
🎬 24th Annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival
February 19 – 23 Get ready to be inspired. This world-renowned festival brings together filmmakers and activists for five days of environmental and adventure films. It’s "Where Activism Gets Inspired," set right in our historic theaters.
Don't Miss: The activist workshops and art exhibits that happen between screenings.
