Our Story

River Park Inn is a traditional bed and breakfast lodging with 5 guest rooms. All are equipped with modern amenities including private in-suite bathrooms. The entire inn including the guest rooms have antique decor to compliment the historic nature of the inn.

This year River Park Inn celebrates 20 years serving visitors to the Greater Green Cove Springs area. Pat discovered and fell in love with the building in 1996 and felt that her experience as a mother and nurse could be transferred to yet another career as innkeeper… cooking and laundry and caring.

The name was chosen because of the river, the park and the inn in that order. The historical significance of the building and the role of its original owner were unrecognized at the time or perhaps a different name like Clarendon Cottage or the Applegate Inn would have been selected.

None the less, after several months of modification, including the installation of a fire suppression system and inspections for a hotel and restaurant license, it was finally officially opened as River Park Inn in July 1997.
