The Minnesota Renaissance Festival is starting up again in just a few short weeks, so here are some reminders! Our MN crew can't wait to see you all!
⭐️When attending the festival, you need to buy a parking pass to park in the lot or take one of the shuttle buses. This was set in place by the county to mitigate traffic as much as possible.
⭐️Drink water. By all means enjoy libations, but it’s hot and your body will thank you for downing a bottle of water between beers. You can bring in one 20 oz unopened bottle of water and refill at some of the bathroom stations-- with the metal sinks!
⭐️ if you need you bring a weapon for your cool costume, your sword or dagger needs to be peacebound or tied so it cannot be unsheathed. No hammers or axes will be allowed at all. Leave them at home. No guns; this includes nerf, sq**rt, recreation, etc
⭐️There are wasps and bees. They live there. Mind your cups, they especially love mead. And plan accordingly if you have allergies
⭐️Costumes are not consent. Keep your hands to yourself. This means don’t touch the cast members either
⭐️If you hate it there, you don’t have to go/work there. Fest is imperfect, but please don’t p*e in someone’s rice crispies because they’re enjoying it and having fun
⭐️It’s a porta-potty situation. No flush-based bathrooms
⭐️It’s an outside event. If you have mobility issues, know there are no paved paths. There are scooters available to rent, but they’re limited
⭐️Wear shoes. Good shoes. You may not go barefoot. Leave open toed shoes behind as there are wood chips and small stones and nails and debris and grossness in the mud
⭐️Bring *cash*!!!! Most food and most booze places only take cash, and everywhere else prefers it. Technology is not perfect and the network gets overwhelmed. Also please tip the performers you see. Musicians? Tip. Stage shows? Tip. Street characters? Tip. Vendors that gave you a fun/memorable interaction? Tip. Oh, and tip your servers and bartenders! Some perfomers take electronic tipping like Venmo and PayPal, ask if you don’t have cash
⭐️ Trinkets are NOT tips. Please don’t use them for that purpose. Also, please do not stop performers in order to trinket trade
⭐️Consumption of canabis products at the featival is prohibited. It may be legal in our state, but festival is held on private property and you don’t have permission from the owner. If you’re caught smoking pot on site, you’ll be asked to leave.
⭐️If you choose to bring your dog, be sure you have all vaccines and flea preventatives up to date. Proof of rabies is required to enter the grounds. Leave your cat, snake, and other pets and most dog friends at home. There are things left on the ground that are yummy to dogs but harmful.
