Today as I prepare for our very last guest here in our cabin, it is a bittersweet feeling. Some tears, along with that feeling of excitement at what is to come.
We have loved our time here and loved all the wonderful guests we've had. It was unexpected, but we discovered that we wanted more land and to be closer to Weaverville, so we are moving!
We won't be doing Airbnb for a while as we will be taking our time to find the right piece of property and all that goes with putting what we want together.
Thank you guests, thank you land, thank you Spirit for all the blessings and gifts of the past year and a half!
Stay tuned!

So much rain, so green, flowers blooming...however, can also be dangerous! Be careful!
Weather Alert: Many flooding showers yesterday. Much dryer today, but more to come Monday. Be careful! Chimney Rock Park closed until further notice due to damage. Green River Gorge being evacuated. Stay out of rivers and safe distance from waterfalls. If hiking or camping, stick to short hikes or roadside spots. Expect mud! On one of our many “dates” around Asheville, Perry and I sat down to some coffee in Old Europe on Battery Park Ave. By this time, we were a committed relationship and discussing him moving to Asheville from Atlanta. As it is with anyone thinking of moving from an area they’ve lived in for many years, leaving behind friends, a business and a home, I knew it would be an adjustment for Perry and wanted him to focus on any dreams or desires he had been keeping under wraps. So, I asked him just that. He proceeded to tell me that he had dreamed of having land and vacation cabins. He could utilize his talent with building/maintaining plus his gift for healing. It would be more than just a place to rent a cabin, it would be a sacred retreat place.
I almost fell out of my chair because for years this had been my dream as well. After I found myself single years ago, I had a vision of land, with my own home on it and surrounded by magical woods, cabins, and special spots where people could come to not only relax, but reconnect - with themselves, the Divine, nature and their loved ones. Each time I visited my vision, there was a man in it. I could never see his face, but he was tall, wore a baseball cap, work jeans and boots and was a gentle, loving soul who shared my vision. I knew that man in my vision was Perry!
So, we began our search for the property that would become Sacred Mountain Retreats.
We had our list of must haves: flowing water nearby, a cabin to rent out, a sunny warm spot for Ashely, a huge workshop for Perry, a main home for us, land to expand on and be sustainable with, near Asheville and her sacred, ancient mountains. On a fluke checking of Craigslist after a disappointing day of looking at property via Zillow, we came across this place.
It called to us. We said yes.
And here we are now, working each day to love it, add to it and make it the magical, sacred retreat space we both envisioned. It is a work in progress and we have many goals, projects and nature connections to achieve, but all of it is making us very happy.
It is our intention to create a space that allows our guests to retreat, enjoy and experience the surrounding beauty, and rekindle their connections – to our beloved Gaia, their own divinity and creative spirits and use our gifts as healers to assist in any way we can.
