Great couple days in the Turkey woods! Passed on a couple Jake's yesterday and had miss on a monster mid-day doing a reap crawl. This morning was redemption time. Was close to a double punch out but a hen blocked the second shot. End result was a beautiful Maine Longbeard Limb Hanger. Congratulations Jon on yet another successful season.

Congratulations Curt on your first Maine Longbeard.

Well the last four days of the season didn't disappoint! Pretty much non stop running. Had two awesome groups to finish off the 2025/2026 season. Here are pictures from today and yesterday's hunt. Thanks to everyone who helped make this a successful one. Thanks to Roarning Brook and Kirk Small for helping out and allowing me to run my pack for some of your hunts. Thanks to Scottie-Lynn Gomm for keeping the rest of the dogs occupied at home while I was gone! Bookings are already coming in for next season. 6 months and counting.

Finally getting a min to catch up on the hunt this past weekend. Another great hunt on Friday and Saturday. Conditions weren't ideal early but heated up as the day went on. Thanks again to Roarning Brook for helping out. Memories made and listening to the packs run all day is always exhilarating!

We had a fantastic 2 day hunt! The conditions weren't the best and battled rain all day Saturday with close to 2' of snow on the ground in spots. The pack didn't let us down. 2 days of woods music. Great shooting capped off a perfect hunt.

It was a short week in Zone 19. Congratulations to Daniel Sutton and Amber Sutton on a great bull. The first 2 days was discouraging with no response to calls. We covered miles on foot getting into areas that were heavy with moose on cameras with no luck. Tuesday night they started moving more and the rut really kicked in. The roads were scuffed up Wednesday morning and more sign of raking trees and alders. I positioned us in an area that we had been concentrating on and at 5:30 Wednesday afternoon as the wind started to die down I made one cow call and he immediately started grunting. He made a B-line for us and the trigger was pulled less than 10 min later. Zone 19 has been about my favorite zone for years. We have taken a lot of moose throughout the areas I hunt. It has changed over the years for sure and it creates a good challenge for the hunters who like to get off the road and hunt on foot. The days of clear-cuts in 19 are a thing of the past. Thank you to my newly licensed guide Kirk Small for all your help this moose season. You'll be taking your own hunters next season and I'll have all the confidence in your ability. Thank you to Scottie-Lynn Gomm for keeping the house and dogs in order while I've been moosin this season. Time to unpack and get ready to focus on birds and hare.
