Their stories settle into the hollows, their songs travel the ridgelines, and somehow the place feels different because they were here.

Here, from our little corner of the East Tennessee mountains, we're remembering Dolly — her music, her kindness, her humor, and the Appalachian home she carried with her wherever she went.

Summer is beginning to wind down in the mountains… 🌿⛰️

There’s something special about these last weeks of summer in East Tennessee. The mountains are still wrapped in green, the days are warm, and every now and then there’s just a hint in the air that fall is waiting around the corner.

This is one of the views we never get tired of at Nolichuckey Bluffs Bed & Breakfast — layers of Smoky Mountain blue stretching into the distance and a sky that seems to change by the minute.

Before long, these hills will begin their autumn transformation. But for now, we’re soaking up every last bit of summer. 💚
