Winter has arrived at Lubrecht!

Lubrecht Experimental Forest has a partnership with the Missoula Nordic Ski Club that allows for the grooming of our forest's road system for use as cross-country ski trails in the winter months. For any information regarding cross-country skiing, grooming schedules and snow conditions, please visit the Missoula Nordic Ski Club's website at www.missoulanordic.org.

Thanks and happy skiing!

Per the Missoula Nordic Club on December 15, 2021...

We have rolled all of the Lubrecht trails to put down a base but that does not mean the trails are groomed.

We still need at least 6" or more of snow to groom and have safe skiing. There are lots of deep tire ruts, ridges, rough areas, rocks and bushes. While it is possible to tour do so at your own risk. Skating is strongly discouraged.

Lubrecht is also finishing up a timber harvest which they hope to be done with in two weeks. The main haul road includes portions of every loop. We will be flagging the haul road as off limits within a few days. Please stay off the obvious logging road as the trucks full of logs probably will not be able to stop to avoid you.

We will get to good skiing soon.
