What an amazing pheasant season this has been so far! With the great spring and summer rains the pheasant numbers have been phenomenal this year, the weather has been beautiful, and the laughs and memories made have been endless. Our customers and bird dogs have been having the time of their lives. With the Kansas pheasant season not ending until January 31st, there is still time to come out for a hunt this season. With the amazing rains and moderate temperatures we had this spring and summer the pheasant numbers are fantastic this year! All 12,000 acres and 50 native grass CRP fields are still as green and lush as I've ever seen for September, and we are seeing birds all over the place. The nesting and brood rearing conditions were perfect, and it is so rewarding to see all the hard work and habitat improvement projects reach their full potential. One of my favorite research projects is the 50 trail cameras we utilize to monitor bird numbers and brood sizes. Enjoy some of the great pictures we captured this year. What an amazing pheasant season we have had so far! The pheasant numbers are fantastic this year, the weather has been beautiful, and the scenting conditions have been excellent with all the great rains we received.

There are still 6 weeks left in this season that closes on January 31st, and it would be a great year to make it out. In addition to the pheasant hunting being great, the fire pits, golf simulator and trap range have created a lot of great memories and laughter. Attached are some pictures showing the fun we've had. With all the great rains we've received this year the pheasant numbers are looking great! Attached are some recent pictures from our trail camera research project. We continue to see tons of pheasant and broods every day as we do our habitat projects and upland game bird research projects. It's going to be a great year!

We've been preparing for the season and have dug 10 new water holes for our dove hunters. All of the wildlife have been loving the water! Deer, dove, pheasant, quail, turkey, and every other creature that our awesome Lord & Savior has put on earth have been using them frequently. Our milo food plots have produced an excellent food source as well as cover and protection for our upland game birds.

At the lodges we have added a top end golf simulator for some more afternoon and evening fun, laughter, and fellowship. We have added fire pits off the back porch of each lodge that will be great to reminisce about the days hunt and good times.

Our bird dogs (pointers, setters, GSP's, Britany's, GWP's, and labs) continue to get worked daily and are eager to start hunting. We encourage you to bring your bird dogs as well (if you have them), as seeing your bird dog getting into hundreds of birds every day makes the hunt extra special.

We still have a couple of openings for our 2024 season archery and muzzleloader whitetail deer hunts. We only sell about 10 deer hunts per season on our 12,000 acres, as we want everyone to get a 150 class or bigger buck. The application period for the KS deer draw is April 1st through April 26th. The muzzleloader season runs from Sept 16th to 29th, and we do our archery hunts anytime between Sept 16th to Nov 7th. Attached are some pictures of bucks we've had on our property the last couple of years. Upland Inn Hunts will be featured on American Birdhunter this week on the Outdoor Channel. This episode focuses on our work with Outdoor Mentors on getting more kids involved in the outdoors and showing them some great pheasant hunting. We also discuss the great work that Shepherd's Way does in providing housing & holistic life-coaching for individuals with intellectual disabilities. God is great in providing us opportunities to help and guide the most vulnerable and in need.
