This time of year always brings me back to summer camp! I want to extend my congratulations to all of my prior staff and all of my campers/CITS for graduating! I’m so beyond proud of all of you and the amazing people you’ve all become. If you ever need a letter of recommendation, community service papers signed, or just want to touch base with me about anything please always reach out to me. As we gear up for another exciting summer at Groveland Recreation Summer Camp, we wanted to take a moment to discuss our approach to field trips and why we prioritize onsite activities as a cornerstone of the camp experience.

While field trips have been part of camp in the past, we believe that fostering a strong sense of community and engagement among our campers is paramount. By focusing on onsite activities, we can create a more inclusive environment where all children feel connected and supported.

Hello Camp Families! I’m here to give you some updates. I have spent the last ten years growing and creating amazing memories with each and every camper. I’ve watched my campers grow up and become staff members, accomplish amazing things they never thought possible, and make the best memories each year at our program. With that being said, I’ve taken on a new job position that no longer gives me summers to be at GSRP. This is of course so sad for me, as it has been my home for ten years. I have been inspired and love each of my campers and their families, this summer I even had my campers make flowers and signs that I put out at my wedding. Please always feel free to reach out and connect with me at any time, I am always happy to see and hear from all of you! I’ve watched many of you grow since first grade, and look forward to watching you all take your next steps in life, graduate, and be amazing people and do amazing things because I know you’re capable of that. As for the 2024 summer, that is not anything I have answers for you about. Keep an eye out for news on that from the Town. Thank you all for all of your support and love over the last ten years and I look forward to what life brings in the future. -Maddie Capeless

Our last day of camp is always emotional!! Can’t believe eight weeks are done!! Please enjoy all of our campers giving me the largest group hug while I cried!! There have been amazing memories, laughter, confetti, and so much more and we are all so thankful to you for making this possible! There are so many more photos to come, but I wanted to just let everyone know we are thinking of you!!! You’re all my role models and inspiration in life xoxo -Maddie Capeless

We are so beyond proud of ALL our CIT’s. They work hard everyday to help support our staff and campers and ensure everyone has the best possible opportunities at camp! They work hard everyday and they make such amazing role models! We honored them tonight at our awards ceremony, so many people to mention but Bryce Couture won our CIT of the year award! Also we want to thank Ryan Pfiff for making all of this possible! He really put so much work into our program this summer and for that we are so thankful!!

Another fun day at camp!! Water slide day AND a scavenger hunt!!!! You’ll see some of our campers and their prizes here, they could win- free cotton candy, free snow cone, “pie” a staff member(plate of whip cream to a staff member of their choosing), and even be a honorary “senior staff” member!! We had so much fun, and as you can see our counselors are just as tired as our campers 😂 Role model day tomorrow AND hot lunch!!! Prizes will go out tomorrow too!!! ☺️✨
