Spring break season has arrived at Yosemite National Park!
Yosemite is one of the most popular spring break destinations in the country, and it shows. This time of year, can be busy, especially on weekends. Here are some helpful tips to keep your visit safe and successful:
🚗The early bird gets the worm. Expect delays entering the park, especially on weekends. Plan your visits on weekdays and arrive in the morning (as early as 7 am). Buy a digital entrance pass or America the Beautiful pass online to shorten your time in line.
🧍Beat the line and save time. Trails and other facilities may be busy at times. Skip the wait and plan your day ahead of time by researching on our park website (nps.gov/yose).
🚌Leave the car and ride the shuttle. Parking lots can fill before mid-morning, especially on weekends. Arrive early and park in one spot for the day. If in Yosemite Valley, park and take the free Yosemite Valley shuttle to popular trails and viewpoints. Don’t forget to drive slowly and look out for wildlife on the road.
💧Your safety is your responsibility. Spring brings snowmelt, which means all creeks and rivers in the park are flowing fast, cold, and powerfully. Stay out of the water and away from slippery rocks. Conditions can be deadly.
☀️🌧️Expect mixed weather. The next ten days offer a mixture of warm temperatures, clouds, and even some rain. Check the forecast online before arriving.
🐻Leave Yosemite better than you found it. Bears and other wildlife are becoming more active in the park. Do not approach them (no matter how cute they look). Store your food and dispose of trash properly.
