𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝟰𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗽 𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲!🎶
The City of Gulf Shores is celebrating the 40th anniversary of a longstanding Gulf Shores tradition, the Entertainment Series. The 2027 season will also introduce an exciting new venue for the series. All performances will be held at the recently completed Gulf Shores High School Performing Arts Center, located at 21656 Coastal Gateway Boulevard. Shows begin at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6 p.m. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, November 10, at 10 a.m. The new venue offers additional seating options, with tickets starting at $35 each. Coffee and water will be offered at intermission.

🎵𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗲 – 𝗧𝗲𝗱 𝗩𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗹 - 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟮𝟲
Ted is a singer, songwriter, and tribute artist. He was born in Seattle and raised in the Olympia area. He has performed since age ten in school concerts, symphonic, and jazz bands, developing his talents as a drummer and singer.

In 2006, he went to Laughlin, NV, to compete in Talent Quest 2006, which included 28 states, New Zealand, Australia, and Canada, and took first place. He then went on to win Komo TV 4's NW Afternoon Celebrity Look Alike contest, and has played twice for John Denver’s own "Windstar Foundation" in Aspen, CO. Ted cruised the Caribbean with Darryl Worley and Jimmy Wayne on a "Travelin' Inc. country cruise hosted by Great American Country's own Storme Warren. In 2012, Ted was awarded the Rising Legend Award from the National Traditional Country Music Association.

Ted also performed with the late Steve Wiesberg, John Denver’s lead guitar player from 2010 to 2014, who is quoted as saying, "Apparently the audience thinks they all look and sound like John. I don't see it. I see it with Ted. A very strong physical resemblance... Uncanny!" (King 5 Eve News Magazine clip) In 2016, Ted was part of the Kings of Country Tour in Australia, starring Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and John Denver tribute artists touring 20 cities from coast to coast.

Ted now performs internationally for all kinds of venues and events. He has wowed crowds, selling out theatres across the US. The most heard comments after a show are "I can't believe how much he looks and sounds like John Denver! It really took us back!"

Chicago Rewired, The Premier Chicago Tribute Band, is an 8-piece ensemble based in Charlotte, North Carolina, performing nationwide at theaters, casinos, festivals, performing arts centers, and corporate events. Since 2015, the band has faithfully recreated the unmistakable sound of Chicago with powerful vocals, a world-class horn section, and meticulous attention to the legendary group’s iconic arrangements.

Founded by Charlotte drummer Mike Graci, Chicago Rewired was born from a simple idea: audiences deserved more than another cover band. Mike set out to assemble a group of exceptional musicians capable of delivering the energy, precision, and musicianship that made Chicago one of the most successful rock bands of all time. The Seven Wonders are world-class musicians paying homage to the music of Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks. Named after the Fleetwood Mac song “Seven Wonders”, the band's collective performing experience brings the crowd powerful renditions of these timeless tunes. They authentically recreate all the great hits of Fleetwood Mac, including Dreams, Go Your Own Way, Rhiannon, Edge of Seventeen, Landslide, Gypsy, and more. The Seven Wonders’ onstage passion reconnects fans with the music they love.

Everybody knows the Gulf side of Gulf Shores.

But turn around from the beach and there's another body of water that has shaped life here for generations.

Little Lagoon.

Stretching roughly eight miles, Little Lagoon runs behind the western portion of Gulf Shores. Gulf Shores & Orange Beach Tourism describes it as generally between one-half and three-quarters of a mile wide.

And it isn't simply a freshwater lake sitting beside the Gulf.

Little Lagoon contains brackish water influenced by both freshwater drainage and saltwater moving through Little Lagoon Pass. Its salinity can change depending on tides and conditions at the pass.

That creates productive habitat for fish.

Speckled trout.

Redfish.

Flounder.

White trout.

Croakers.

For generations, fishing Little Lagoon has been part of Gulf Shores life, and it remains popular today. When conditions offshore aren't cooperating, the lagoon can provide anglers with a more protected alternative.

Little Lagoon Pass is especially important because it provides the lagoon's connection to the Gulf. The pass is periodically dredged to help maintain water movement and water quality.

It's funny how easy Little Lagoon is to overlook.

Millions of visitors arrive focused entirely on the white sand and Gulf of America.

Meanwhile, just behind the beach is an eight-mile waterway with its own ecosystem, fishing traditions, waterfront communities and history.

Gulf Shores has always been more than the strip of sand facing the Gulf.

Sometimes you just have to turn around.

Most people come to Gulf Shores and head straight toward the busiest stretches of beach.

But there's another way to reach the Gulf.

You have to walk for it.

The Pine Beach Trail runs through Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge on the Fort Morgan peninsula, one of the remaining protected pieces of Alabama's barrier-island environment.

And this isn't your typical walk to the beach.

The trail passes through several coastal habitats before eventually reaching the Gulf. Instead of walking out of a condo elevator and onto the sand, you're traveling through the kind of landscape that existed here before Gulf Shores became a major resort destination.

That's the real attraction.

No wall of high-rises waiting behind you.

No giant restaurant.

No souvenir shop.

Just dunes, wildlife, coastal vegetation and the Gulf of Mexico.

Bon Secour was established to protect important coastal habitat as development rapidly transformed Alabama's shoreline. Today the refuge remains a major stop for migratory birds and other wildlife.

For older Gulf Shores visitors, there's something especially interesting about seeing this.

People often say they miss when the Alabama beach was quieter and less developed.

Well, pieces of that coast still exist.

You just have to leave Highway 59 behind and go looking for them.
