Please pray for those in the path! We at The Gulfport are feeling pretty nervous! Praying for this to dissipate.

IAN UPDATE: As of 2 PM ET, this is the latest forecast track and hazards from Hurricane Ian. I am very very concerned for the West Coast of Florida and if you are under an alert, you need to take action. This is a big powerful storm and so even if it's just off the Florida coast, the impacts can still be catastrophic in its right front quandrant in the direction it's moving.
If you are told to evacuate, now is the time, don't wait to see what the storm does because there are reasons evacuations are already in place. I'm most concerned if the storm comes in during high tide -- the storm surge will be extremely dangerous and potentially catastrophic for those along the coast and its path. As you can see, there are a lot of hazards here including storm surge, flooding rain, destructive winds, and isolated tornadoes… please heed all warnings from local emergency managers and get updates from credible sources.
I always like to say prepare, not panic, and as scary as this might you need to be ready for both the worst and best case scenarios. You are going to get through this, it's going to be OK, just please stay informed and don't take uneccesary risks.
