The only morning we had a gorgeous sunrise and calm waters at Seney National Wildlife Refuge in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan while our guest, Mark Seth Lender, Writer/Producer and his lovely wife, Valerie were here for a week to gather photos and stories to help us promote our amazing Refuge.

July 11th & 12th - Folkfest-Manistique 2025

The most anticipated event of the year features vendors & crafters, food vendors, tasty treats, AND live music all day & night! Folk Fest is a celebration of life that takes place on the main street of Manistique, Michigan.

Art and Craft Booths display their diverse wares on the second block continuing North on Cedar St while the aromas of Multicultural Food Booths tempt the participants down the street.

Consistently ranked as a favorite small town getaway by visitors, Manistique's natural beauty provides the perfect setting for a day of antiquing and shopping.

We have been lucky to see a few this year! 💕🦢

It's baby season at Seney National Wildlife Refuge in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Yesterday I found two pair of trumpeter swans with six cygnets each...another pair with four. Today I was able to get up close and personal with a couple of families. Then I found yet another pair with six little puff balls on the backside of H Pool. This is the G Pool family. Hopefully, these little ones survive the harsh world out there. Snapping turtles...northern pike and bald eagles are big predators of the young.
