Cabin 1 had a little break in the action, so we’re taking advantage of the downtime to give it a little refresh!

We’re patching up some flaking drywall (the subzero MN winters followed by hot, humid summers can really do a number on a seasonal cabin!), giving everything a fresh coat of paint, and adding a few touches to make our guest’s stay a little more comfortable.

Nothing major- just a little TLC. We have a few more days of work left and will share pictures when it’s finished!

And just like that… summer is officially over. ☀️

The water trampoline came out of the lake today, which around here is the official sign that summer has come to an end. It’s always a little bittersweet to see it go!

But we won’t be sad for long, because up next is our favorite season of all — fall at the lake. 🍂🍁 Cooler days, changing leaves, quiet water, and all the beauty that comes with September in northern Minnesota.

Time for a little fall makeover at the resort! 🍂

I usually wait until after Labor Day to swap out the summer flowers, but with Labor Day falling so late this year, I just couldn’t wait. Out came the summer blooms and in went the mums, ornamental cabbage, pumpkins and gourds. 🌼🍁

September at the lake is one of our favorite times of year—cooler days, quiet water, fewer crowds, and soon, those beautiful fall colors. If you’ve been thinking about sneaking away for a peaceful fall getaway, this might be your sign.

🪶 Minnie & Mannie Update!

It’s been a while since we’ve shared an update on our favorite little loons, mostly because they’re getting harder and harder to keep track of!

Minnie and Mannie have graduated from hanging close to home in the bay and are now busy exploring more of the lake. And lately, Mom and Dad have added flying lessons to the curriculum.

They’re looking less like chicks these days and more like loons with some of their coloring coming in.

We recently heard that only about 25% of loon chicks make it through the summer, so we’re feeling pretty happy that both have thrived with those odds!
