There's no better time of year to drive Highway 1 than autumn.

Some towns do fall better than others.

Half Moon Bay has been growing pumpkins on the coast since the 1800s. The farms are opening their u-pick patches now, and the whole Coastside smells like hay and salt air and something that feels a lot like childhood.
