We have 4 newly built lodges, Pike, Loon, Heron and Osprey nestled within the heart of Oak Point which is the most family friendly and enjoyable community in the Thousands Islands (in our opinion)! Located right on the water, all the lodges have beautiful views of Schermerhorn Bay and beyond to the channel where ships -- lakers, freighters, and more can often be seen moving up and down the river.

The Lodges also enjoy a coveted location right next to the spacious Town Dock which is one of the few places in the 1000 Islands with a shallow sandy-bottom perfect for wading and easy swimming. Relax on the screened porch - play games on the porch table - enjoy a sunset dinner overlooking the bay - roast marshmallows around the fire pit while enjoying the magnificent night sky. Inside the lodges, enjoy the open living/dining area - kitchen with full sized appliances and bathrooms with full tub/shower. Upstairs, 4 of the lodges have a large sleeping loft and Kids retreat with views all the way to the lighthouse on Crossover Island. The expanded dock area has plenty of room to sit and enjoy the view, jump in the water, dock your boat, fish, sip your coffee in the morning or a cocktail at happy hour. Community, join in during the 4th of July for time-honored traditions including themed parades, followed by water and land games, an ice cream social, all topped off by the breathtaking wall-of-flame and bonfire at night. Throughout the summer, enjoy family nights at The Acorn Community center along with pot-luck breakfasts and other activities that are held. The Lodges at Oak Point are perfect for anyone yearning for an old-fashioned vacation experience (with modern amenities, of course!) to reconnect with families, perhaps get away from it all, all while experiencing all that river life entails...swimming, fishing, boating, kayaking, birdwatching, or just swinging on the porch swing taking in the view.

This is a hard post to write. When our family first fell in love with Oak Point and took over running the lodges in 2021, we didn’t know we would gain a dear friend in the process. Many of our guests remember and adore Lisa, who was the innkeeper before us. Everyone who knew her loved her.

She helped rebuild the lodges in 2011-2012. She’s the one who added a beautiful barn quilt to each of the lodges. She’s the one who spent days with us in the beginning, transferring accounts and sharing her knowledge. She’s the one who took us on walks around the neighborhood and introduced us to our new neighbors.

Her smile was bright and warm, and she was always finding ways to beautify the community and bring people together—just as she did by starting this Oak Point parade of lights in 2022.

Lisa was a true light to everyone who knew her, and her impact is everywhere. She will be sorely missed and our thoughts are with everyone who loved her. 💛
