Whispering Oaks has some exciting events planned this season. The info for our next two events are listed below:
Kentucky Derby and Cinco De Mayo weekend! May 1st – 3rd - Get ready for a weekend where Southern charm meets fiesta flair!
Join us at Whispering Oaks for an unforgettable Kentucky Derby & Cinco De Mayo celebration packed with great food, fun, and just the right amount of mischief. Whether you’re here to relax, explore, or turn up the energy, this is one weekend you don’t want to miss.

Weekend Schedule
Friday – May 1
7 PM – Welcome Home Potluck
Bring a dish to share and kick off the weekend with good food and great company in the Dining Hall.
9 PM – Fireside Fridays
Relax around the campfire, meet fellow campers, and enjoy the night. BYOB or bring a bottle to share.
10 PM – WO After Dark
The heat turns up! Head to the Woodshed, soak in the hot tub, or keep the conversation going by the fire.

Saturday – May 2
8 AM – 10 AM – Continental Breakfast (Dining Hall)
10 AM – 12 PM – Into the Woods
Explore our updated 2026 trail system—scan the QR code at the office and enjoy the fresh mountain air and spring scenery.
12 PM – Lunch
Chicken salad, croissants, sliced tomatoes, and dessert.
2PM - Hobby Horse Race
Meet in the courtyard for an exciting Hobby Horse Race. Pick your horse and run the course. Fastest 4 horses advance to a final round.
3PM – 5PM – Courtyard Games
Join us in the courtyard for Co****le, Jenga, Connect 4, etc.
5 PM – Kentucky Derby Party
Dress to impress and join us for the livestream of the most exciting two minutes outside of the Woodshed! Enjoy Mint Julep’s donated by Austin from Site 37 as we watch the live stream of the derby. Bring some cash and draw your horse number. Winner take all!
6:30 PM – Dinner
Taco bar with all the fixings, chips & salsa, and dessert.
8:30 PM – Whispering Oaks LIVE!
Our cast will bring you a variety show like no other. Expect laughs, surprises, and plenty of fun.
10 PM – 12AM – Red Rooster Café Open
Red Rooster café open for late night snacks!
10 PM – UBU WO After Dark
Dance, soak, explore, or unwind since it’s your night. The Woodshed, hot tub, fire, and dance floor are all waiting.

Sunday – May 3

11 AM – Check-Out
Check out of your room but stay all day and enjoy the property.
11 AM – 1 PM – Red Rooster Café Open
