This month has been marked with greener🌲 landscaping and vibrant activity. I'm super stoked about the warmer temperatures and blooming flowers. 🪻

Our favorite repeat guest/friends are loyal as ever coming in to hike their preferred locations and reside at their favorite hostel.

Our SlackPacker cafe has been busy with mouth watering breakfasts, smells of bacon and eggs are filling the campground.

Our nightly firepit 🔥 has everyone gathered around chatting and sharing stories.

C**n Den Falls is a 3.6-mile hike via the Appalachian Trail, categorized as moderate with a 1,010-foot elevation gain, and takes around 2-2.5 hours to finish.

Just a reminder for our Hiker friends who are interested in learning or meeting some of our wonderful hiker community. The Southern Ruck is in 2 weeks. Make your plans now and sign up. Follow the ALDHA link below.

Registration is now open for the Southern Ruck in January in Unicoi, TN. The southern ruck is a combination between a hiker reunion and a place to gain information and ask questions for those planning a future long distance hike. Friday evening will include dinner and a talk by our great friend Kip Redick (Hippy Kippy). Saturday morning, we will pack a lunch and hike to Laurel Falls. In the afternoon, we will have our usual talk about packing your pack wisely and for those who would like, we will do a pack shakedown for you. Saturday night is always fun as we will be going out for dinner in Johnson City. Please sign up as soon as possible!

As the leaves turn, and the crisp autumn air sweeps through Hampton, TN, we’re wrapping up another season at Black Bear Resort! This year brought good times, and wonderful memories with our amazing guests. Your laughter and stories brought life to our cozy cabins and trails, making 2025 a season to cherish.

Womens hiking group takes on the challenge of a 1-night section hike of the Appalachian Trail.

The weather was hot and muggy but they handled it like warriors, they enjoyed hiking and camping overnight on the Appalachian Trail, completing a 16-mile section in the North East section of Tennessee.

If you are interested in participating in a future ladies' hike, Liza has scheduled another excursion in two weeks.
