Renting a 20-yard dumpster for a heavy-duty job like concrete, block, or brick removal?
Here is the golden rule: Only fill it HALF WAY.
Brick and concrete are incredibly dense. A standard 20-yard bin filled to the top with heavy debris will easily exceed the strict weight limits of the truck and local road regulations.
If you fill it to the brim, you are guaranteed to run into two massive headaches:
Insane Overweight Fees: You’ll be hit with massive, per-ton surcharges that will completely blow your project budget.
Failed Pickups: The truck physically won't be able to lift the container safely. The driver will have to leave it sitting on your property, and you'll be stuck unloading heavy concrete by hand until it's light enough to haul plus pay a dry run penalty fee.
