Illiniwek Forest Preserve, adjoining the east side of Hampton, Illinois along route 84, contains 198 acres. Illiniwek's setting on the Mississippi Rover is ideally situated for a combination of recreation, both on land and in the water. Facilities available at the park include primitive camping areas, 60 pads with water and electric hookups, shower houses, and a dumping station. Other facilities include a boat launch ramp, hiking trails, a picnic shelter, and a wooded bluff picnic area overlooking the Mississippi River.

We’re closing out the camping season with a Halloween Bash at Illiniwek on Saturday, Oct. 17! Join us for hayrack rides, games, child and adult costume contests, a campsite decorating competition and food from Q-Tacos Urban Mexican Food and Smokin' Goodness BBQ from 12-4 p.m.

Don’t put the camping gear away just yet.

Fall weekends at Illiniwek bring cooler mornings, cozier campfires and a front-row seat to the changing leaves. Pack the tent or bring the camper and make time for one more stay by the Mississippi before camping season wraps up.

Camping is open through mid-October. Spots are first come, first served, so stop by the campground office to check in.
