I decided to give this rose bush a haircut. I forgot to take a before picture. I don't think it was very happy as I have some battle wounds. Luckily I found these leather mittens to help keep my fingers safe.

I started using a different cleaner. So I thought I would show you a before and after. This floor really likes to show the sock prints and streaks. This new cleaner really helps. Or it is just my imagination because I am OCD about these floors.

There were 12 of us for our family weekend and not once did we feel cramped or on top of each other. All the couples had their own rooms and bathrooms as did the single kids. The house and property was beautiful and meticulously maintained. The kitchen was well stocked with the essentials and there were plenty of towels in all bathrooms along with large bottles of shampoo and conditioner. Donnis was very communicative and would reply quickly. We look forward to coming back with the family again in the future. It was the perfect place for us to all gather!

Do you ever go down a rabbit hole?

I did this morning!

I needed to finish cleaning before our guest arrive on Friday. It takes about 6 to 7 hours to turn it. That means changing bedding, cleaning the bathrooms, mopping all the floors, cleaning the kitchen that includes the stove, refrigerator, sink and dusting furniture as I go. The last thing is vacuuming the carpet. Are you tired yet? We'll this morning I was vacuuming one of the bedrooms and I didnt like the way it looked. It looked dirty so I got out my shark carpet cleaner and cleaned it. Then I decided to do the next bedroom. We'll that led to doing the hallway.😂 I stopped because I hadn't done any of what I was suppose to do. So now I am back at my original duties as housekeeper. There is always tomorrow plus more carpet to clean. Have a great day! I think I will see if the grass has dried so I can mow this afternoon. Wish me luck. Here is a picture of my pretty carpet.

Look at what my granddaughter found at BrittsBoutiqueia in Hampton, Iowa. Lacey didn't have time to go out of town school shopping so they went into Britts. She was having a great sale and my granddaughter found some great buys for school. Can you tell she doesn't like her picture taken.🥰

Sometimes I don't think people understand what we do in our small business and how it impacts our community. Last weekend really show cased what Franklin County has to offer tourist. We had a family reach out last year and asked about our Vacation Rental. They wanted to come and visit Hampton and the surrounding area because their ancestors settled here when they came from Germany. Lacey suggested reaching out to the Historical Museum as well as different restaurants in Hampton. There was going to be 25 people coming for the reunion. One family stayed with us (brothers and sisters) and everyone else stayed at one of the hotels in Hampton.We want to give a big shout out to the following for volunteering and showing them what our small businesses have to offer.

There could be more but they named these during our conversation. They did find the two houses in Hampton and the farm by Beeds Lake. They also visited the Hampton Cemetery and Belmond Cemetery as they had ancestors buried in both. Amy also told me that they cleaned the stones so should be good until next time.🥰
If you are wondering where they were all from. Here you go South Dakota, North Dakota, California, New Mexico to name a few. I know she named others but now I can't remember. I should have wrote it down. This is just one of many families that have enjoyed our property over the years. We love helping people make memories. I didn't get a picture (typical for me) but here is one of the vehicles. 😊Amy you are one of the sweetest persons and I hope you and your family visit again. Lacey and I have decided to rename the attic bedroom for Amy. It is going to be called the Princess Tower 🤭😂
